Science is a subject that contributes to the development of a love for nature in students; it stimulates curiosity and creativity about the phenomena occurring around them; and fosters interest in learning about the natural world, thereby nurturing a sense of responsibility for protecting the environment. The subject also helps students develop competencies such as understanding the natural world, exploring and discovering it, applying scientific knowledge to explain phenomena and relationships in nature, solving simple real-life problems, behaving appropriately to protect their own health and that of others, and conserving natural resources and the environment.
However, science can be quite abstract, as it involves explaining objects and phenomena in nature. This field trip program is designed based on the science curriculum for 4th and 5th-grade students. The core content of the program includes hands-on experiments, observing real specimens related to the lessons, and making simple dishes. The goal is to provide students with a more tangible view of science—helping them explain what they’ve learned through practical experiments and real-life images.
The program aims to spark excitement, curiosity, and joy in discovering how science applies in everyday life. It encourages independent thinking, exploration, and research whenever students encounter new phenomena; fosters the habit of asking questions and using learned knowledge to find explanations. In addition, the program demonstrates that science is not a dry or boring subject, but rather one full of surprises and fascinating discoveries.
